Chestnut

People eat chestnuts many different ways. Deer love to eat them too. On our farm, they leave apples to eat chestnuts.

• Sun Preference: Prefers full sunlight for best nut production.
• Mature height 40 to 60 feet
• Mature spread 40 to 60 feet
• Harvest: Chestnuts usually take 5-7 years to start producing nuts from there initial planting from seed. I expect these to start producing with less time.
• Pollination: Self fertile but they do better with another tree for pollination
